Liz Collin Presentation

This event took place on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016. I was mostly excited because there was free pizza at this event but it was also cool to listen to what Liz had to say about the class’s news packages. This presentation was mainly focused on the students of a higher level class called reporting so I felt a bit out of place but because I am involved in UTVS I knew the majority of the students in the room. I had a good time watching these students packages and hearing the feedback that got from Liz. It was interesting to hear her professional opinion.

Hockey

These are some of the few pictures from my high school career of playing hockey for the Sartell Sabres. There is not a day that I do not think about playing hockey. Every part of me wants to go back and continue playing with my teammates. I started playing hockey when I was just four years old and now that I have graduated high school my opportunities to play hockey have slimmed down quite a bit. I do play intramural hockey at Saint Cloud State University and I take advantage of many of the open hockey events the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center puts on but to me it’ll never be the same as playing for my home town of Sartell.

TV Engineer

I am going to Saint Cloud State University for a major in Mass Communications with an emphasis in TV production. When I leave SCSU I want to pursue a career in the broadcast engineering world. When I first came to SCSU my plan was to become a mechanical engineer but the more time I spent at UTVS, our local TV station, the more I realized that I truly wanted to work more with the video/TV world. Now that I am a sophomore and have an executive board position I know that this is what I want to do with my life and I really enjoy what I do. Another thing that I really enjoy about broadcast engineering is that to me to it does not feel like work, it feels like a hobby to me.
